Groups can be hard to do, there’s always someone looking away, pulling a face or closing their eyes. Doing it from an elevated position makes it easier to get everyone in and in this case having a nice background (Temple Newsham – Leeds) that then extends in to the distance which is so much nicer than against a church or building wall.
In these shots I seem to remember it being very windy and the weather went a bit rainy and dull for a while so needed to brighten them up and lift the shadows. The brollies worked a treat! We were all so glad to get to a lovely heated marquee.
